After a class that went to shadow puppetry in the United States, I visit some friends in France. They asked me to put a show for them. I have not brought the materials with me, so I did what I had found around the castle and made it a simple game, but nice. After the first, asked my friends more shows, so I'm not every night from now on. We did our Le Chat Noir, a very famous cabaret in Montmartre in the 19th century, when Les Ombres Chinoises(Shadow Puppets) were shown. After a hard day's work, I finally sit outside for a drink before dinner (yes, in France, we eat a snack before dinner, eat my kind of place!). However, this was probably my favorite moment of the day, because we have so much fun talking and laughing. On my last night at the castle, my friends asked for a review of previous performances. I had to improvise stories and some of them are not very good. You can see where the practice could havehelped, but it was fun. There are times when we lost a bit 'in translation - the first, mainly because it seems there is no equivalent in French mushy. I described how as a Guimauve - a marshmallow.
